Behind the camera

Chris Kirsch

A Black Hills photographer exploring the landscape and wildlife of the American West through natural-color and infrared imagery.

Chris and his wife, Kirsten, operate Crow Peak Photography from South Dakota. With roots in journalism, he approaches each photograph as a real encounter—built through patient observation and thoughtful capture rather than heavy digital manipulation.

Presented at art shows and juried competitions, with two published books devoted to the DakotaChrome series.
